Meet Sophie Scraper

Sophie is known for her patience — happy to work through as many rounds of revisions as it takes until a client feels confident and ready to move forward.

Sophie brings patience, care, and follow-through to every project she takes on.

Sophie started college in engineering, but quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit. She’d always been drawn to design — picturing a home’s layout just from the outside, sketching how she’d furnish it. After shadowing a friend in NDSU’s interior design program, she knew within minutes of her first class that she’d found her field, especially commercial design. She’s especially proud of the Make-A-Wish office, where every piece was chosen to support staff and visitors and create a welcoming space, even in difficult circumstances.

The Human Focus

A client once needed a space for volunteers to work and store program materials in an organized way. Understanding how the room would actually be used shaped the real solution. Knowing the people behind a project means stepping into their shoes, not just filling a room.

No Handoffs

Sophie gets to know a project inside and out by staying with it from day one through installation. During one site visit, she realized the original layout wouldn’t work with how the room was actually built — and because she knew the plans firsthand, she redesigned it on the spot, avoiding delays.

Listening First

One client reminded Sophie that an office isn’t just for the people who work there — it’s for everyone who walks through the door. That shifted how she designs every space since. Her approach to understanding what a client truly needs is simple: keep asking questions.
